WEAR & CARE
To maintain the quality and appearance of your Maison Cloth shirts, we recommend the following care instructions:
BEFORE WASHING: Undo all buttons to reduce strain on the stitching. Remove collar stays, if applicable, to prevent any damage to the shirt or washing machine.
WASHING: Wash your shirts in cold water and separate dark colours from light ones. Avoid tumble drying; instead, let shirts air dry on a hanger or clothesline.
IRONING: For best results, iron shirts while they are slightly damp or iron with the aid of a water spray.
DRY CLEANING: All our cotton shirts are dry cleanable.
To maintain the quality and appearance of your Maison Cloth Suit or Overcoat, we recommend the following care instructions:
DRY CLEAN ONLY: Dry cleaning chemicals can be damaging to wool fibres and shorten the life of your garment. Limit dry cleaning to once a season or only when the garment is visibly soiled.
DO NOT IRON: Direct and prolonged contact with a regular metal iron may damage the fabric and cause an unwanted shine. Use a garment steamer to remove creases and deodorise the fabric. Alternatively, have your garment pressed at a reputable professional cleaner.
STORAGE: Store your garment in a well-ventilated area on the Maison Cloth hanger provided with your purchase. This hanger preserves the shape and drape of your garment. Avoid wire hangers and always empty pockets prior to storage.
MAINTENANCE: Brush your garment with a stiff-bristle brush after each wear to remove lint and debris that can lead to fibre decay and weakening. Allow the natural wool fibres to rest and recover by rotating your garments evenly. Avoid wearing the same piece two days in a row.
To maintain the quality and appearance of your Maison Cloth Knitwear, we recommend the following care instructions:
WASHING: For the safest and most delicate method, hand wash your knitwear. Fill a basin or washbowl with cold water and add a gentle wool detergent. Submerge the garment and gently massage it. For stains, pat the area with detergent, avoiding rubbing to prevent pilling. Rinse the garment in clean cold water by gently pressing it, without wringing, to remove the detergent. Repeat, if necessary, until all detergent is removed. To remove excess water, lay the garment flat on a towel, roll it up, and press gently. Avoid wringing or twisting to prevent stretching or damaging the fibres.
MACHINE WASHING: If necessary, machine wash using a gentle, wool-specific cycle with cold water. For added protection, place the knitwear in a laundry bag and include a few clean towels in the washer to serve as a cushion. Use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softeners. Choose the shortest spin cycle available if your washer allows it.
DRYING: Do not machine dry the garment. Lay it flat on a clean towel, reshaping it to its original form. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, which may damage the fibres. Allow the garment to air dry completely before storing. Turn the garment over at least once during the drying process to ensure both sides dry thoroughly.
DE-WRINKLING: Use a fabric steamer for a wrinkle-free finish. Steam the garment from a slight distance without touching the fibres. Allow the garment to cool before wearing or storing it. If ironing is necessary, turn the garment inside out, place it on your ironing board, cover it with a light-coloured cloth, set your iron to its lowest setting and gently press on the cloth using smooth strokes. Always keep the iron moving to avoid direct contact with the fibres.
STORAGE: Always fold your knitwear instead of hanging it to avoid stretching and sagging. Store in a clean, dry place away from sunlight or heat sources. Closet shelves and drawers are ideal. To keep your garments fresh and protect them from moths and mildew, consider using moth repellents such as cedar wood balls.
To ensure your Maison Cloth silk piece holds its form and colour for many years, we recommend the following care instructions:
STAIN TREATMENT: If your silk piece is marked, promptly take it to a professional dry cleaner and point out the stain.
AVOID SPOT-CLEANING: Never attempt to remove spills by rubbing or spot cleaning. Wet silk fibres are easily broken, which can cause fabric damage or permanent water-mark stains.
DE-WRINKLING: Minor wrinkles usually disappear if the item is left flat overnight. For stubborn creases, use the steam function of an iron without making direct contact. If your iron lacks a steam function, place a protective cloth over your garment and press with the lowest possible setting.
TIE CARE: Always untie your tie after each use to maintain its shape and condition.
To maintain the quality and appearance of your Maison Cloth Leather items, we recommend the following care instructions:
PROTECTION: Before use, spray your leather item with a light-quality leather protector to guard against water, stains, and dirt. This will help extend the life of your product.
CLEANING: Regularly clean your leather item using a leather shampoo and a clean, dry cloth.
SPILL TREATMENT: Treat spills and marks as quickly as possible to prevent permanent stains. After cleaning, apply a leather conditioner to prevent drying, colour fading, and cracking.
DRYING: Always keep leather products in a dry place. If your leather item comes in contact with water, blot gently with a towel and allow it to dry naturally in the shade. Avoid using a hair dryer or exposing the item to direct sunlight, as heat can damage and fade the leather.
STORAGE: Store your leather item in the Maison Cloth bag provided with your purchase.
